Dog Training or Dog Rehabilitation?

I'm reading a new book by Cesar Millan, Cesar's Way, which I highly recommend, by the way. In it he explains how dogs in the United States are being treated as humans instead of like dogs.

Unfortunately, being treated like a human makes dogs misbehave and become kind of neurotic. Dogs want to be treated like dogs, and they need us, their owners, to be the leader of the dog pack. That is why Cesar teaches that dogs need to be rehabilitated and the owners need to be trained.
My aunt already finished the book and has put a lot of it into practice. She has six dogs (five Pugs and one Boston Terrier). Simply by following Cesar's instructions she has succeeded in becoming the leader of the pack and this has resulted in a happier group of dogs.

I'm going to continue this review about this book as I learn more.

I agree with this post Dog Training or Dog Rehabilitation?

This is the way I treat my dogs, always have and always will.
My dogs listen to my 98% of the time and when they don't they find that I mean business.
No I do not beat them but I am not a quiter. They know when I am not happy and may try to flee. That don't work as I will follow them till we get back to the problem at hand. Face it then get back to being best of friends.
It is cool the relationship that I have with my dogs, most of the time I can just snap my fingers for them to do the simple things; come sit, shake, lay.
What most people get a kick out of is; with my Collie I can whisper (Get out of my kitchen) and she will leave no matter where we are, even outside in the yard. They only know what you teach them and you must start at the beginning (when you get them) as they are just like children. Let them get away with stuff and you will be sorry latter. I will upload some pictures when I get time to www.markstratton.com when I get time.
Have a great day, Mark Stratton
